This exclusive 5-day experience will take place in Sydney in April 2025, offering aspiring Artists the unprecedented opportunity to learn directly from Industry Creatives connected to some of the Worlds most brilliant Productions! Open to Singers, Actors and Dancers of all levels.
What Exactly Is The Artist’s Lab ‘Fosse Inspired’ Experience ?
This 5-day intensive workshop is tailored for passionate musical theatre performers aged 15 and over, focusing on the unique choreography, vocal techniques, and acting styles that define Bob Fosse’s legendary approach. Over five days, you will gain first hand training in dance, singing, acting, and audition techniques—culminating in a showcase performance in front of Australian and international Producers, Directors, casting agents and musical supervisors.
Skills You’ll Gain
By the end of this 5-day course, you will:
- Develop Your Craft: From “Fosse-inspired” dance to vocal techniques, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of what it takes to perform at the very highest level.

- Develop Your Unique Voice: Explore your individual talents, strengths, and areas for growth, and work one-on-one with Australia’s most recognized vocal coaches to refine your vocal performance.

What Will You Learn?
Daily Classes Include Musical Theatre Dance Technique: Precision, isolation, sensuality, expert execution and knowledge
- Choreography: Work on iconic musical theatre dance numbers and new interpretations of of the style.
- Singing & Vocal Technique: Specialist vocal lessons with a maximum of 4 participants per session.
- Acting Through Song: Understanding character, emotional depth, and storytelling.
- Audition Technique: Learn how to present yourself in front of casting agents.
- Specialist Sessions: With broadway and West End Leading Performers and Creatives (Online and in person)
- Vocal Technique: Master the art of vocal performance in musical theatre.
- Dance/Movement Technique: Refine your technique, understanding of movement and stage presence.
- Agent Application Masterclasses: Learn how to apply for representation with confidence.
- Showcase Performance: This year our 5 day intensive will culminate with a showcase of everything gained from the workshop and an opportunity to deliver this knowledge in front of some of Australia’s and the World’s most well connected and revered Theatre Alumni.

We’re proud to welcome a talented roster of leaders in the world of musical theatre, including
Ruthie Henshall – British West End and Broadway star, best known for her iconic performances in Les Misérables as Fantine, Chicago as Roxie Hart, and Crazy for You. Other notable roles include Velma Kelly in Chicago, Marian Halcombe in The Woman in White, and Nancy in Oliver!. She is widely celebrated for her versatile vocal talent, dynamic stage presence, and extensive contributions to musical theatre in both the West End and on Broadway.
- Sharon Millerchip – International Director (Six the Musical) and Former “Roxie & Velma” in Chicago The Musical
Suzanne Jones – Globally recognized producer of Chicago the Musical (Australia), with further credits including Pippin, Hadestown, The Book of Mormon, and more.
Karen Johnson Mortimer – Leading director of Chicago the Musical (Australia) and the first Australian to play Cassie in A Chorus Line. Karen brings decades of experience as a director of global theatre productions.
Lucy Maunder – Recently starred as Roxie Hart in Chicago (Australia), with extensive credits in Australian musical theatre, including Wicked and more.
Maureen Andrews – Australian theatre legend with credits including The Boy from Oz (with Hugh Jackman), Grease – The Mega Musical, and the original Australian production of Hair.
Michael Tyack – Renowned Australian musical director with credits including Chicago, The Boy from Oz, All That Jazz, and more.
Simone Sault – Choreographer and director for Love Never Dies (global) and Phantom of the Opera, known for dynamic work across multiple global productions. Also performed as Velma and Roxie in both West End and Australian productions.
Paul Tabone – West End musical theatre star, musical theatre voice specialist, and senior talent agent. Paul is a renowned tenor, celebrated for his powerful operatic voice and his performances in productions like Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera. He has also worked as a vocal coach and is highly regarded for his expertise in training musical theatre performers.

This workshop is suitable for performers aged 15 and over with a passion for musical theatre, serious training, and those with a passion for this iconic style of dance in musical theatre. Note: The dance level is advanced, so participants should have prior dance experience. Younger participants with exceptional talent may be considered for the course.
Scholarships & Financial Support:
- 2 x Financial Hardship Scholarships: Available for regional and First Nations applicants. Proof of financial hardship (e.g., Centrelink statement, letters of support) required. 17-35 years of age
